This upgrade has dramatically reduced the client’s electricity costs, bringing them down to the lowest possible level. In addition to the savings, the system also creates an opportunity to generate income by exporting surplus energy back to the grid.

On stronger generation days, the client can earn upwards of £6 per day, turning excess power into a valuable return.

Combined with their ability to produce and store their own energy, this means the client is not only saving money but also becoming largely self-sufficient, with far greater control over their energy use and long-term costs.

Following a customer request for a safety inspection, we assessed the existing consumer unit and identified several critical issues.

The installation was significantly outdated, with only part of the property protected by an RCD, leaving the rest of the home without adequate fault protection.

In addition, the presence of a plastic fuse board located on an exit route meant the installation did not meet current safety standards, resulting in a failed inspection.

To resolve this, we carried out a full consumer unit upgrade, bringing the system in line with modern regulations and ensuring complete circuit protection throughout the property.

The result is a safer, compliant, and future-proof electrical system, giving the customer peace of mind and improved protection across their home.
